MJA | Grammar: Present Continuous Tense

     Tense ini merupakan tense yang merujuk pada tindakan/ kegiatan yang sedang berlangung dan masih belum selesai. Jadi tindakan/ kegiatan itu sudah dimulai sejak dulu, masih berlangsung dan belum selesai pada saat pembicaraan sedang berlangsung. Tense  ini juga digunakan pada kegiatan yang sudah direncanakan dan pasti terjadinya, tense ini ketiga paling sering digunakan setelah Simple Present dan Past Tense.

     Tense ini bisa disebut juga Present progressive Tense. Kamu juga bisa mengidentify suatu kalimat dengan clue waktu yang diberikan.

Rumusnya adalah:

I	AM	READING	A BOOK AT THE MOMENT

Kamu hanya perlu menambahkan Ing pada akhir kata kerja.

Macam-Macam Present Continuous Tense:

Positive

S + To Be + Ving + O/C

  I am taking a course

  We are Sleeping in the tent at the moment

  She is wearing a dress right now

Negative

S + To Be + Not + Ving + O/C

  I am not taking a course

  We are not sleeping in the tent at the moment

  She is not wearing a dress right now

Introgative

Question Word/ To Be + S + Ving + O/C

  Am I taking a course?

  Yes, I am         No, I am Not

  Why are we sleeping in the tent at the moment?

  Is she wearing a dress right now?

  Yes, She is      No, She is Not

Kamu bisa menyingkat  (Contraction) To Be dengan Not.

Am not = Ain’t

Are Not = Aren’t

Is not = Isn’t
